Hevea trail

Hevea trail

In Dutch: Hevearoute

Short description

A beautiful, short walk of about an hour through the forests of Doorwerth. The route starts in the Westerbouwing woods, descending towards Heveadorp, after which you climb the other side of the small valley towards the Duno estate. Along the way, you pass the site where the Duno manor once stood and walk along the old Azalea Avenue, which used to be the entrance to the estate. You also pass the Hunnenschans, a historical remnant of the first settlements in Doorwerth. At various points along the route, you can enjoy stunning views of the floodplains and the Nederrijn River.
